Many of the foods that we eat regularly can be very unhealthy. In this article, we’ll discuss the ten foods that you should avoid, and why it’s better to eliminate them from your diet.

1. White chocolate

Did you know that white chocolate, isn’t real chocolate? White chocolate actually contains fats, sugar, cocoa butter and condensed milk. White chocolate doesn’t contain cocoa paste, which means that it cannot be considered to be chocolate. If you enjoy chocolate, we recommend that whenever possible, you only eat it in its natural form. This is the healthiest option.

2. Potato chips

Potato chips are a classic snack that we all enjoy. Their crunchy texture and salty taste make us want to eat them, and that’s why, according to some studies, they’re one of the most addictive foods available.

Eating them regularly isn’t recommended because they contain acrylamide. This chemical occurs during the cooking process, when a reaction between ingredients and the high cooking temperature causes high levels of acrylamide to form in starchy foods. Acrylamide is a very harmful substance for your body.

3. Fish sticks

We tend to believe that crab sticks, fish sticks and products made from fish derivatives, are healthy foods. However, in reality, these products cannot be compared to regular fish. They are made from many different types of low quality, processed fish, often mixed with starches and large amounts of salt.

4. Bottled juice

Bottled juices contain high levels of sugar, and because a huge amount of time can pass between manufacture and purchase, they lose a large percentage of their nutrients. Luckily, more and more supermarkets have already installed juice extractors, and now sell freshly squeezed juice.

We recommend that you always choose the fresh option, because it’s the only way to enjoy a freshly squeezed juice with vitamins.

5. Frankfurter sausages

Frankfurter sausages have always had a bad reputation as a delicatessen product. This is because they contain large amounts of fats and salt. Besides, the meat of which they’re made from, is of very poor quality and contains barely any nutrients.

It’s true that they’re very cheap to buy and kids love them! However, always put the quality of your food, and the impact that consuming it has on your health, first.

6. Muffins

Muffins are trending! Who would’ve thought that a traditional food product, like the cupcake, would become so popular? It would seem that people started packing a healthy dessert or breakfast choice, with exorbitant amounts of sugar.

If you do eat muffins, try to eat them in moderation. Muffins are very appealing and they taste great, but all the excess sugar creates a “calorie bomb” and puts you at risk of tooth decay.

7. Sugary cereals

Sugary cereals are a breakfast staple for many, especially young children. But what many people don’t know, is that they’re one of the most unhealthy breakfast options available. This is due to their high sugar content.

8. Precooked pizzas

Among all of the precooked products, pizzas are one of the most popular. This is because everybody enjoys them and they’re quick and easy to consume. However, if you read the ingredients, you’ll notice that they contain lots of salt, fats and carbohydrates.

Here you can learn how to make a homemade pizza. In just half an hour, you’ll have a healthy and nutritious option, and be able to enjoy all of the benefits of Italian cuisine.

9. Sugary drinks

Sugary drinks are one of the main causes of obesity. These types of drinks have become a staple in the daily diet of millions of people around the world.

Most people know that the problem with consuming these drinks, is how much sugar they contain. But apart from that, there are other negative consequences and serious risks to our health, such as: diabetes, tooth decay and bone fragility.

10. Canned soup

When you arrive home late from work and you’re tired, you may not feel like cooking a meal, and it’s so simple to open a can of soup instead. At the first instance, it appears to be a healthy meal, also because it contains very few calories. But in reality, canned soups contain a lot of salt.

If you consume canned soup a few times each week, you’ll suffer the consequences of excessive salt intake. It is very important to limit your consumption of these products.
