Their main advantage is that practically all of their composition is water. This means that they are foods with a very low caloric content and therefore they are particularly recommended for those people who want to lose weight.

In addition, we can eat watermelon and cantaloupe in multiple ways, so it’s impossible to become bored with them. Although it’s typical to eat them as a dessert or a snack, we can also consume them in main meals. Some popular meals are: melon with ham and cold watermelon soup.

Besides being two foods that do not contribute to weight gain, watermelon and cantaloupe have multiple nutritional benefits. Of these, the following stand out:

2. Grilled meats and fish

During the summer the temperatures are higher and heat floods our homes. As a consequence, we don’t often want to spend time in the kitchen. Using the oven for hours to cook stews or roasts isn’t recommended, as the temperature of the house can increase even more.

Meats or fish are perfect for cooking on the grill. They’re also perfect for a barbecue dinner with friends or family. As you can see, it’s possible to enjoy a summer evening while you lose weight and still take care of your diet.

If you want to cook meat or fish on the grill as part of a meal, you can also include some vegetables too. It’s so easy to make a quick and healthy dinner that is compatible with any type of diet, and perfect for during the summer months.

3. Salads

We can enjoy salads as a summer staple. Salads are good for whatever country you live in, regardless of the weather or the seasonal produce available. Be sure that salads are regularly on the menu during the hot months. They are a complete, nutritious and healthy food.
