Some boxers are known for their quick movements and their agility in the boxing ring, others are known for their punches and knockouts. However, in this article, we want to honor those with the most titles. Here are the top five boxers with the most titles.

In addition to having multiple titles, these boxers have set victory records or even made history with their fights:

1. Roy Jones Jr. (15 titles)

Roy Levesta Jones, also known as Roy Jones Jr., was born in the US in 1969 and has won many world titles in several categories: middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight.

He’s the only boxer to have started his career as a junior middleweight and then win a heavyweight title. Also, in the 90s he was named, “Fighter of the Decade.” Roy Jones has participated in 75 fights, of which he won 66 (and 45 of these he won by knockout).

His first boxing match was in 1989 when he beat Ricky Randall. The last one was almost three decades later, in 2018, when he defeated Scott Sigmon by unanimous decision. Amazingly, both fights took place at the Civic Center in Pensacola, his hometown.

2. Manny Pacquiao (12 titles): top five boxers with the most titles

This Filipino boxer, born in 1978 and whose name is Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, is one of the boxers with the most titles in history. He’s one of the current champions of the World Boxing Association (WBA).

Pacquiao is without a doubt one of the best boxers in the world, and the only one to this day to achieve nine titles in eight categories: flyweight, featherweight, bantamweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight.

The left-handed boxer’s career started in 1995 when he defeated Filipino boxer Edmund Enting Ignacio by unanimous decision. He officially retired after his victory against Keith Thurman in 2019, in Las Vegas. In total, Pacquiao has been in 71 fights, of which he won 62 (39 by knockout), lost 7 (3 by knockout), and the other two ended in a tie.

3. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (11 titles)

Mayweather is one of the boxers that most appears on the media, but beyond his skill in and out of the ring, this American man who comes from a family of boxers (his dad and uncles were boxers too) holds no more and no less than eleven titles in five different categories. Mayweather has won in super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight.

His technique, his movements in the ring, and his rhythm make him different from the rest. And not just that; he’s one of the best-paid boxers in the history of the sport.

Mayweather, also known as Money,  set a record for the most won fights in a row (50 times). More than half he won by knockout. Moreover, he achieved the bronze medal in Atlanta, 1996, in the 119 and 126-pound category.

His first boxing match was that same year in Las Vegas, where he beat Mexican boxer Roberto Apodaca by technical knockout. His last one was in 2017 against Conor McGregor with the same result and in the same city.

4. Thomas Hearns (11 titles): Top five boxers with the most titles

He may not be very famous but his name is worth mentioning in the list of boxers with the most titles. The “Motor City Cobra”, born in Memphis, US, was a world champion in several categories: welterweight, light middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight.

Those who have seen him fight, assure that Hearns’ strengths are his speed, the power of his punches, and his long arms. He participated in 67 matches and won 61 in total, 48 of which by knockout.

His career took off in 1977 when he beat Jerome Hill in Detroit by knockout. Then, he retired with a victory against Shannon Landberg by technical KO in 2006.

5. Oscar de la Hoya (8 titles)

In our list of the top five, we can’t leave out this boxer born in Los Angeles. De la Hoya won first place in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics (1992); from that very moment he was nicknamed “The Golden Boy”.

De la Hoya was one of the best boxers in the 90s and was a champion in six different divisions: super featherweight, super lightweight, lightweight, welterweight, superwelterweight, and middleweight. During his entire career, he won 39 fights (30 by knockout), out of 45 in total.

His career started with a victory against Lamar Williams in 1992 and finished in a lost fight against Manny Pacquiao at the famous 2008 Las Vegas MGM Grand.
