If you’re one of the many people who don’t like going to the gym, you’ve found the perfect article. While getting in shape definitely requires reducing your caloric intake and choosing healthy foods, a regular exercise program is also very important. But it can be hard to find the time.

Here, we’re going to discuss four effective home workouts.

You don’t have to slave in the gym every day to lose weight. In fact, there are simple exercises that you can perform in your living room to help you.

Exercises such as, zumba or bodypump are a great cardiovascular workout and can be an effective way to lose weight. We’ll cover these in more depth later.

Four effective home workouts

Here’s our list of four effective workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own living room. With these home workouts -and some effort and motivation-  you can lose weight and achieve your fitness goals without even having to leave your house.

1. Total body conditioning

The first weight loss workout that we’re going to discuss is, total body conditioning. Basically, total body conditioning  is a potent combination of  cardiovascular and body weight exercises.

Bodyweight exercises are a great home workout

It also incorporates HIIT (high intensity interval training) which helps you to quickly burn calories and build muscle. It combines cardiovascular exercises with strength training intervals. This unique combination not only improves your strength, but also your flexibility.

Try total body conditioning simply by putting together a bodyweight circuit that you can do at home. Exercises such as, push-ups, squats, burpees, and planks are all great workouts to include.

2. Bodypump

Bodypump is an exercise program based on strength and weight training. Although it’s a common gym program, you can get the same workout at home. All you need is a bar, a bench and a mat.

Bodypump is another great home workout

The program includes a variety of exercises to target specific muscle groups. Not only that, but every workout in the program has a motivating soundtrack, which helps you to maintain a consistent pace.

Each workout lasts for 60 minutes, and focuses on endurance using the bar, but in a unique way. Instead of focusing on heavy weights, bodypump focuses on lighter weights and faster exercises. The goal is to build strength and tone muscles without causing muscle hypertrophy, or bulking up.

3. Zumba

Inspired by Latin American dance and music, z umba feels more like a party than a fitness class. But although it may feel like you’re at a nightclub, it still has all the same benefits of a regular cardio workout. Burn fat and calories, tone muscles, and improve your cardiovascular fitness with this entertaining workout.

Dancing is a great way to workout from home

This program uses interval training, switching between periods of high intensity, faster paced moves with lower intensity periods of active recovery. This is great for weight loss, as i nterval training burns even more calories and fat than traditional cardio.

As well as the cardiovascular benefits, zumba is a great exercise your entire body. Like most dance-style workouts it’s especially effective at strengthening the hips, abs, and thighs.

Zumba doesn’t forget about flexibility either, as every class includes stretches as part of its warm-up and cool down.

4. Aerobics

The fourth home workout and most effective weight loss method that we’re going to talk about is aerobics. This dynamic workout is a great way to get off the sofa, and it only takes a small amount of space, some upbeat music and and a bit of motivation.

Aerobics can easily be done at home

Aerobics are a great way to lose weight and and stay fit, and you might not even need to buy a step. All the moves can be performed on any step or stairs that are already in your home. Aerobics is also an effective way to burn fat, especially in the stomach and hips. Just remember to warm-up beforehand to minimize the risk of injury.

These four workouts are an effective and convenient way to workout at home. Exercising for just 20-30 minutes, two or three times each week, is a great way to start. Turn up the music, get motivated, and enjoy a fitness routine in your living room!
