In fact, exercise gurus, trainers from around the world, and even celebrities, such as Chris Hemsworth, have their own applications for those who wish to follow their practices.

However, the disadvantage is that we don’t always know if training with an app is beneficial or if the exercises are suitable for particular abilities and needs.

Having a personal trainer is no longer considered crazy or something that only wealthy people can afford. Nowadays, many people prefer to pay a fitness coach to make them a personalized routine. This can have many advantages because you get the most out of your exercises and, also, rely on a trainer’s personal consultation.

Thus, it’s no wonder why one of the current fitness trends is to hire a personal trainer to create a personalized plan according to your tastes, time, and needs.

3. High-intensity interval training

Popularly known as HIIT, it’s a training strategy that combines aerobic (cardio) and anaerobic (strength) exercises. Why is it one of the current fitness trends? Basically, because it’s a very short workout, between four and 30 minutes.

Without neglecting a warm-up at the beginning and stretching at the end, HIIT repeats high-intensity exercises with little recovery time between each one. This way, you meet your daily or weekly exercise requirements without having to spend hours training.

Although it’s an ancient discipline, yoga made our list of the current fitness trends. This is because, nowadays, people desperately need to slow down and reduce the stress of their daily lives.

As there are many online yoga classes or applications, you can do it at home. Along with meditation, it’s one of the most popular exercises nowadays. Of course, there are also more dynamic options than the well-known hatha yoga, which is calmer and is characterized by relaxation poses, such as acroyoga, which combines classic poses with acrobatics.

5. Bodyweight exercise

In the fitness world, it’s known as calisthenics. It’s a training regime in which people use their own body weight. Thus, they don’t resort to dumbbells or weights. This practice focuses on the movements of big muscle groups.

The word “calisthenics” comes from the Greek words “Kalos”, which means “beauty” and “sthenos”, which means ‘strength’. Therefore, its goal is to help people achieve beautiful, slim, and strong bodies. Although it recently became very popular, it emerged in France in the 19th century.

6. Functional training

Some call it CrossFit, although this is the trademark of what many gyms promote as “functional training”. The goal of this discipline is to train the entire body, meaning each muscle group, in a class that lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Some of the exercises included in the class are push-ups, squats, lunges, tricep dips, chin-ups, deadlifts, and kettlebell swings. Also, people use different elements, such as ropes, kettlebells, weight discs, benches, and dumbbells.

Finally, we can’t forget about “all-in-one centers”, which offer various services such as exercise, including cardio classes and machines and weights, nutritionist consultations, massages, aesthetics, protein shake bars, rest areas with sofas and magazines, and outdoor areas.
